ScamShield AI Privacy Policy

ScamShield AI is designed to help users review suspicious messages, screenshots, links, and related content for possible scam warning signs. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected, how it is used, and the choices available to users.
Information we may collect
- Account information: email address and an internal user or account identifier.
- User-submitted content: text, messages, screenshots, or other content that a user chooses to submit for analysis.
- Support information: information a user provides when requesting support or reporting an issue.
- Purchase information: subscription status and purchase history needed to confirm access to paid features. ScamShield AI does not receive full payment-card or bank-account details when purchases are processed by Apple.
- Diagnostics: crash or performance information that may be used to maintain reliability and security, when such diagnostics are enabled.
How information is used
- Provide scam-analysis and safety-guidance features.
- Authenticate users and maintain accounts.
- Store and display scan history when enabled.
- Confirm subscription access and enforce feature limits.
- Respond to support requests.
- Protect the app, prevent abuse, investigate errors, and improve reliability.
AI processing
User-submitted content may be transmitted securely to an artificial-intelligence service solely to generate the requested analysis. Users should avoid submitting passwords, payment-card numbers, bank credentials, Social Security numbers, private medical information, or other unnecessary sensitive data.
Tracking and advertising
ScamShield AI does not use submitted messages, screenshots, email addresses, or account identifiers for cross-app tracking or third-party advertising.
Data sharing
Information may be shared with service providers that support essential app functions, such as hosting, authentication, AI processing, subscription verification, security, and diagnostics. These providers are expected to process information only for the services they provide.
Data retention
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain security, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and whether the user chooses to store scan history.
Data deletion
Users may request deletion of their account and associated personal data by emailing dkrono@icloud.com from the email address associated with the account. Do not include passwords or other sensitive credentials in the request.
Security
Reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards are used to protect information. No digital system can be guaranteed completely secure, and ScamShield AI does not promise absolute security.
Children's privacy
ScamShield AI is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. Parents or guardians may contact support regarding a child's information.
International users
Information may be processed in countries other than the user's country of residence, subject to applicable safeguards and legal requirements.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are made.
